In elementary school Girard Sagmiller was diagnosed as mentally retarded by his teacher and school administrators, who recommended that his family institutionalize him. Girard, now 35, is a network manager for a world wide non-profit organization and moonlights as a professional model and actor for companies such as Levi Jeans and Anheuser-Busch Inc. He also gives his time to offer classes at the University of Missouri, and other community services.

Girard travels the country and is available for book signings, lectures, workshops, group speaking, professional training, motivation speaking, private sessions and continuing education college courses.
